I hope Malachi is feeling better! I was on day 5 of the flu on Mother's Day, too. My mom let me come over and watch a movie with her anyway.

I know what you mean about enjoying just having a quiet day. It felt sort of weird that I had to get the flu to have time to sit around with my kids reading for a few days!

Dear Emily,
What a precious post. So wishing we could have spent Mother's Day together - and I'm so sorry for the reason we couldn't!- but we'll celebrate soon and laugh about it in years to come. One of the most memorable Christmases was the year your dad and I came down with the flu while out of town and we let Jerod drive us all the way home from Shell Beach on a learner's permit!

You're my precious daughter, and I appreciate all that you are, as you are. Thank you for your love and support during this battle. It means the world to me.
