I am SO GLAD someone else incurs fees at the library! We racked up so many fees last year I kept the kids out for 6 months! Then we went to just one card...I was trying to use the library as a training in responsibility...not good! So one day I thought, I'll just check on the other cards that were still open and found that my eldest daughter had $84 in FINES! She had taken them to the beach and left them at my friends' house and we forgot about it! YIKES! The library worked with us, but OH MY GOODNESS! The Library should not be the place to go into debt! = ) You made me laugh...thanks!

Circle the date on your calendar when the books are due! If you can't make it to the library, you can renew them online. That has saved me a bunch of times.

I like Karen Kingsbury. She is a lot more complex than a lot of Christian fiction writers.

Always nice to know. I am a library Queen. Before I buy, I go online and search our local libraries. If they have it, I request it. One book, a pioneer cookbook I have heard raves about, I bet I will get, finally, in 6 months; I've waited 2 already. I'm not always that patient. But... my cookbook shelf is stuffed and ready to pop. So, I can wait. As a librarian of sorts, I love the smell of books, the knowledge and sweetness of books, what they teach me, how they help me escape reality and slip into slumber at the end of long days, the free trips around the world, without costing me a dime. Save the libraries!!!! :) Two fun books, kids' books, easy and very nice reads for adults, are Richard Peck's A Year Down Yonder (my fav) and A Long Way From Chicago. Most of his books make me smile. And in the summer???? They have wonderful kids' programs!!! Go to the library!!! :)
